The ENP governs the EU's relations with 16 of its closest Eastern (Eastern Partnership countries) and Southern Neighbours. Recently revised ENP will be primarily dedicated to stabilisation of the region in political, economic, and security related terms. It will put a strong emphasis on implementation of a differentiated approach to EU’s Neighbours by respecting different aspirations of the Partner Countries and better answering the interests of the EU and the Neighbours. The revised ENP will also pay special attention to increasing ownership by Partner Countries and EU Member States.

This research platform has been initiated in 2015 within an EU-wide research project "Preliminary Evidence of Spillover Effects in Europe" with the aim of better understanding the methodologies that could be used to better measure spillover effects of public investment in the arts, culture and the creative industries. A research alliance across Europe has contributed to form an international evidence library. To date it is the most comprehensive database on projects with spillover effects in Europe; the first project attempting to analyse the causality of spillover effects and their contribution to the EU Agenda 2020; and the first open-access digital research platform for spillover effects. This platform will be continuously developed to reflect ongoing research strategy and the suggestions of the community of debate around spillovers.

The web-resource presents the results of data-gathering which is one of the instruments to provide up-to-date, relevant information on the culture sector and the economy of culture. Until recently, culture social and economic statistics were derived from already existing multi-purpose data collections on employment, business, private and public expenditure, practice and participation, and international trade in goods and services. Now the Eurostat culture dedicated section presents the data that refer to cultural employment, international trade in cultural goods, and cultural participation and expenditure.
