The Lithuanian Culture Institute is founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania in order to promote Lithuanian culture abroad and to present Lithuania to the world through culture. Until recently the activities of the Institute were not focused on EaP countries. However, the Lithuanian Culture Institute has been intensifying its cultural exchanges with Ukraine. The cooperation programme “Lithuania – Ukraine: Cultural Partnership 2016” introduces Lithuanian photography, design, literature, music, theatre and visual arts to the audiences in Ukraine. It embraces also seminars, master classes, other educational events organized together with Ukrainian partners.

This is an Executive Summary report on the economic and social impact of Mons 2015 European Capital of Culture. The report summarises key information and lessons learned from (Mons2015) in order to highlight the main findings of the economic and social impact assessment. The study aimed at measuring the “holistic” impact of Mons2015, which isn’t based solely on usual quantitative indicators like the number of new jobs and tourists, but relies also on the locals’ experience and the effect the cultural programme had on the city’s image and on the future development plans. KEA developed a multidimensional evaluation model for cultural investment with a set of 150 qualitative and quantitative indicators and carried on a research for 5 years in order to compare the social and economic background of Mons before and after ‘Mons2015’.
