LIKE U. EUROPEAN CULTURAL RESIDENCIES IN UKRAINE. Registration for curators open.
During the first stage of the program on November 2-6 2017 16 cultural managers and curators from 8 European countries (Austria, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium) will be invited to the Carpathian village of Tatariv in the «Koruna» mountain resort for a 5-day seminar to develop the common vision of the Artists Residency “Like U”.
The program of the seminar includes an integration party, presentations of Ukrainian arts, discussions, excursions, brainstorming and the declaration of intent based on the common vision of the artists residency.
We expect that our guest curators will be ready to apply commonly with the project developed to Creative Europe program in early 2018.
The main objective of the seminar is to create together the project of the residency for the 50 artists in different fields from 8 European countries: Austria, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium. They will be invited to create common cultural products together in late 2018.
The main objectives of the residencies will be the presentation of Ukraine’s rich and diverse culture, communication between European and Ukrainian artists and cultural activists, exchange of values and cultures through the means of arts. In a long term, we count on the fact that demonstration of such projects in the EU will contribute to breaking down stereotypes that Europeans have about Ukraine and vice versa.
The activities of the project development and implementation of the series of creative residencies in Ukraine in the following fields: cinema, visual arts, music, sculpture and land art, theatre, art management and cooking for young artists, cooks and cultural managers from different regions of Ukraine and EU Member States.
Other results of the Like U Residency project will be exhibitions of visual art, documentaries, land-art objects, theatrical pieces, cooking-book, strategic plans of joint art project from EU and Ukraine for several years designed by artists and art-managers during the main stage of the project.
Among the Partners of the project are all-Ukrainian institutions such as Zenko Foundation (Kyiv), YermilovCentre (Kharkiv), Center for cultural management (Lviv), Stabilization Support Services (Kiev), local authority bodies such as Village Council of Tatariv village, Council of Yaremche region as well as international cultural institutes based in Ukraine: Polish Institute in Kiev, Austrian Cultural Forum in Ukraine, Goethe Institut Kiew, French Institute.
Registration is open till the 15th of May 2017. The selected curators will be informed by the 25th of May 2017.
Transfers from the nearest airport, 5-day stay in the «Koruna» mountain resort, boarding, interpreting, excursions and other program expenses on the spot are covered by the organizers.
