Armenia and China agreed on culture cooperation programme until 2020. Armenia’s culture minister Asmik Pogosyan and Chines ambassador to Yerevan Tian Erlu signed programme on culture cooperation between the countries for 2017-2020. The programme foresees cooperation in the field of theater, music, dance, literature, cinematography etc. It includes the conduct of contests, festivals, scientific conferences and culture days dedicated to the topic of Silk Road. Belarus and Latvia signed culture cooperation programme for 2016-2018. Belarus’ culture ministry and its Latvian counterpart signed cooperation programme for 2016-2018. The parties will promote direct links between musical institutions, concert organizations and creative unions as well as support exchanges of artists and music groups. Georgian businessman plans to film sequel to legendary Mimino. In his interview to Sputnik, young Georgian businessman from Tbilisi Zurab Chygogidze revealed plans to film sequel to a legendary Soviet movie Mimino. A script would be written by a Russian writer Sergey Rat, the media outlet wrote, underlining that the film would promote friendship between Georgian and Russian people. Chygogidze himself believes the right time has come for such a movie. Georgians always play an important role in Russia, the businessman argues, noting that for the last 14 years links between the two nations have been weakening. “I want to reverse this trend,” he said. Kyiv State Administration will host Outlook World Culture Festival. The event will take place on 18 June at the premises of Kyiv State Administration with 25 embassies presenting culture of their countries. Director of Gogolfest called for cultural promotion in regions and announced Ukraine’s Cultural Capital project. Following the conduct of Porto Franko Gogolfest, a large-scale cultural festival, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Maksym Demskyi, director of Gogolfest, called for holding similar events in regions outside of Ukraine’s major cities like Kyiv, Lviv or Odesa. This would increase the culture level across the country, Demskyi argued, adding that this should be considered by the government as a national security issue. According to Demskyi, Porto Franko Gogolfest is a pilot for larger project – Cultural Capital of Ukraine.
