2018 is the year of cultural heritage in Europe. During this time the EU will initiate more events and educational campaigns to raise the awareness of protection the cultural heritage. Moreover, the Creative Europe programme supports financially the projects in the area. This is a good time for leaders and specialists on cultural heritage to take part in EU initiatives, conferences and training programmes to learn new practices and approaches and bring them to local communities.

In this case, we would like to introduce you the organisation Europa Nostra the leading heritage organisation in Europe. They advocate the protection of cultural heritage, initiate the campaigns to save Europe’s most endangered heritage sites and educate the professionals in the sphere.

Europa Nostra initiates lots of events such as European Heritage Congress, EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards and contributes to the implementation of European policies.

Especially, we would like to highlight the case of 7 Most Endangered. This programme is supported by the Creative Europe programme since 2014. European Investment Bank Institute is the founding partner and the Council of Europe Development Bank is the associated partner in the project. Every two years, the organisers publish the list of the endangered heritage sites and mobilise partners in a public and private sector to take part in protection as well as formulate the future action plan.

There are different ways to get involved in Europa Nostra. You can become a member as organisation or individual, donate, support their campaigns or become the volunteer.
