SHORT FILM COMPETITION: Proud of our Heritage, Open to the World

The EU Delegation to the Council of Europe, with the support of the Council of Europe, invites you to take part in its first Short Film Competition. Until February 5th, 2019, you can express yourself on the chosen theme "Proud of Our Heritage, Open to the World".

Take your camera or even your smartphone and express your creativity in one to three minutes about this theme. Make your voices heard and your heritage known.

Cultural Heritage is about beautiful buildings loaded with history. Is it only that? It goes beyond! Cultural Heritage is also the special spices you put in your food that make others cough, that dress your grandmother sew when she was young and you are so proud of, or the deafening music that just makes you dance.

Already getting ideas? Write a scenario and tell us your own story about that heritage you love.

  • The best videos will be selected by a jury composed of officials from the European Union and Council of Europe, as well as a cinema professional, and will be projected at a closing ceremony of the competition. And the best part: the winning short film selected by the jury will win a set of a bridge camera and a stabilizer worth € 800,-.

  • But don't be disappointed if you are not awarded during the ceremony, you still have a chance to win. The short films will be posted on social medias after the ceremony and the one with the most likes on social medias will be awarded the Public prize and a set of a video projector and a portable projector screen worth € 500,-.

  • Finally if you don't feel like a movie director but still are passionate about cinema and short films: there is a prize for you as well. A prize will be given to the author of the best critique delivered through a comment on social media. If your comment is chosen by the jury, you will receive a Photography Drone worth € 200,-.

Deadline for your submission: February 5th, 2019 by midnight CET
