Culture Bridges is funded by the European Union under the EU’s support to the implementation of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine; and is managed by the British Council in partnership with the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) network in Ukraine.

Culture Bridges provides grants for Ukrainian cultural operators to visit the EU (and vice versa), for periods of up to four weeks, to attend conferences, networking events, residencies or fora related to culture and/or the creative industries, or to have working attachments with EU (or Ukrainian) cultural / creative organisations.This opportunity is open to individuals and organisations located in the EU and Ukraine.

The proposed traveller or their proposed host can apply. Applicants will need to identify the mobility opportunity themselves. Mobility grants cannot be accessed solely in order to develop applications for other EU programmes, eg Creative Europe, although this can be an additional benefit.

The maximum grant amount available per mobility is €2,250 (for visits of between one and two weeks) and €4,000 (for visits of between three and four weeks). This can be used for: 

• International travel
• Visas
• Airport transfers
• Accommodation
• Meals (in line with the rates set out in the application documentation)
• Local travel in the hosting country
• Conference fees

Mobility grants will be paid 80% in advance and the balance on receipt of an acceptable report.

The deadline for submission of applications for international mobility grants is 12 April 2018. Application forms may be submitted in English, Ukrainian or Russian. The grants awarded must be utilized within six months of the notification of grant award, i.e. by 17 December 2018.
