SAVE THE DATE: INTERNATIONAL EASTERN PARTNERSHIP CULTURE CONGRESS

The event will be held on September 4-6, 2015 in Lviv (Ukraine) at Ivan Franko National University

This year the Congress will take place in Ukraine for the first time ever. The Congress subject “The Mission of Culture During Crisis” will bring together more than 500 art professionals, culture managers and animators, representatives of ministries, self-government bodies, public organisations, the scientific community and mass media from 19 countries of the world.

The uniqueness of the Eastern Partnership Culture Congress is in its structure, which departs from the strict scientific conference model and offers its participants the concept of peer-to-peer workshops and seminars, providing enough open space for discussions. Panel discussions will be held on five major topics:

European Values: excel vs essay

Fear in Culture / Culture of Fear

Art as a Provoker of Changes

Cultural Policy and Cultural Economics

Culture and Propaganda

At the Congress, there will be presentations by creative associations from Ukrainian cities, masterclasses on art criticism, amateur filmmaking, cultural journalism, etc. All in all, around 100 intellectual and creative events are scheduled over the course of the three days of the Congress in Lviv.

The Congress is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, the Ministry of Culture of Poland, the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the Ministry of Culture of Moldova, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Previous Culture Congresses involving the Eastern Partnership member states took place in Lublin (Poland) in 2011 and 2013.
