Armenia
Armenia’s minister of culture was awarded by Russian order of “Honor and Courage.” On Tuesday, 21 June, Hasmik Poghosyan, Armenia’s minister of culture, was awarded by Russian order of “Honor and Courage,” Newsarmenia.am reported. The media outlet also underlines that the order is awarded to persons who have shown courage, heroism and bravery execution of the military service and/or civic duty, committed a heroic act, reached a significant achievement in social, political, cultural and other non-profit activities for the benefit of the Russian state. Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan hosted 5th festival of national minorities. The 5th Republican festival of national minorities organized by Azerbaijani ministry of culture and tourism has been conducted in Azerbaijan from 28 to 30 June. Speaking at the opening of the festival, Vagif Aliev, the country’s first deputy minister of culture and tourism, noted that Baku has always paid significant attention to national minorities living in the country. He also underlined that the current 2016 is proclaimed as the year of multiculturalism.Trend.az

Council of the Republic approved Belarus draft Code of Culture. The upper chamber of Belarus National Assembly has approved draft Code of Culture. The document aims at systematically regulating social relations in the culture sphere. It defines the state culture policy as well as competences of all respective state bodies dealing with culture. Minsk hosted Armenian culture festival “Golden Apricot.” The event took place in upper town of Belarus capital. The festival represented Armenian music, dances and cuisine. All other diaspora communities living in Belarus may also hold similar events celebrating their culture, media noted. Belta.by
Georgia
Georgian government approved the “Strategy of Culture 2025.” The document was prepared by the Georgian ministry of culture and monument protection. Since 2014 it has conducted 53 consultations across the country with media, NGOs, international organisations, national minorities and persons with special needs. Georgian government set up council on planning tourism and cultural events. The new council will comprise representatives of state and business sectors including large-scale tourism companies, hotel networks and tourism or culture oriented private organizations. In parallel to the state budget process, the council will coordinate state and private sectors in planning and financing tourism, culture or other significant public events. Moldova held the Day of national costume for the first time. Ukraine has no arena for hosting Eurovision, culture minister says. Ukraine currently doesn't have any arena suitable for Eurovision, the country's Minister of Culture Yevhen Nyschuk says.
